Pam Kersten has been designing and producing marvelous masks and theatrical props since 1995. From the beginning, her interpretations have been unique and individual both in concept and in execution. Initially, animals formed the entire cast of characters.
Recent designs characterize themes that are more fantastic, while Pam explores new treatments of texture, color, line, and movement. While the line continues to grow and evolve, the final product is consistent: always dramatic, beautifully made, finely detailed, and highly original.
Pam makes every mask, one at a time, and considers each to be a special creation. It is very much a limited edition process. Less than two hundred masks are made each year, so each one is singular and exclusive. Pam signs every mask before it is wrapped and packed carefully for shipment.
Theater and dance companies are frequent customers, as are individuals who purchase for masquerade. Masks make wonderful and creative gifts… memorable presentations, sure to be treasured as keepsakes, whether worn or displayed as objects of art.
This is a family business. Pam designs, builds, and paints all masks herself. When the shop gets really busy, Sheli Kersten pitches in to help with cutting, gluing and assembly. Dan Kersten takes care of advertising, office chores, and shipping; Alex Kersten contributes graphics and provides computer support.
Generally, all masks are made to order. Production time must be factored into your order. However we occasionally have a few completed masks in stock.
