Special Mask Designs
This mask was designed for a special routine called "Passing Wind" wherein the mad scientist character manipulates, juggles, and prestidigitates ping-pong balls and balloons with jets of compressed air. This is part of a large, sometimes wacky, multifacted, and highly entertaining dance/movement production by a California performing arts duo called The Tweaksters.
This mask design is based on the "Beakman X" character, (see "Fantasy Themed Masks") but has been modifed in various ways, including exclusion of the beak. Why? Well, because mad scientists don't need beaks!
The Tweaksters selected this mask not only because of the look, but also because of the way it fits and feels while worn, and because it offers little restriction to vision, speech, and breathing. This mask has been in regular use in The Tweaksters highly popular productions since 2002.
